Rebound Employment: Redefining Education, Reentry, and the Future of Work

Education is changing. Fast.

Artificial intelligence is already reshaping how companies operate, build teams, and transfer knowledge. The traditional classroom model is struggling to keep up, especially for people who were never well served by it in the first place.

At Rebound Employment, we believe it’s time for a bold new approach.
An approach that makes education personal.
That builds skills around opportunity.
And that prepares people, not just to get jobs, but to lead, launch, and grow.

We’re not just rethinking education for the justice-impacted.
We’re rethinking it for the world we live in now.

Building the Bridge Between Learning and Earning

Rebound Employment began with a clear mission: to equip incarcerated and returning citizens with real-world skills to reenter society with dignity, income, and purpose. But that mission has grown in 2024 and beyond.

We now help correctional institutions, reentry programs, nonprofits, employers, and enterprise organizations launch AI-powered education and employment pipelines.

We’re building a system where:

  • Training is tailored to the individual
  • Learning is self-paced, mobile-first, and instantly applicable
  • And every program is connected to a real-world opportunity

This isn’t theory. This is transformation in motion.

Why the Old Model Is Broken

Most education systems—even in reentry—still follow the same outdated playbook:
Train people first. Then hope someone hires them.

The problem?
That model isn’t aligned with the modern economy.

Employers don’t want generalists with generic training.
They want people who are emotionally intelligent, adaptable, and ready to contribute on day one.

At the same time, learners don’t want abstract lectures. They want clear steps, practical knowledge, and a path to monetizing their growth through employment, entrepreneurship, or remote work.

That’s why Rebound flips the model.

We partner with employers, then design training to match their real needs.
We build courses that don’t just educate—they certify, qualify, and place.

What Makes Rebound Different

Our system—called the Rebound PathBuilder™ Framework—is built around five core pillars:

  1. AI-Assisted Course Creation
We help our partners turn their expertise into engaging, modular online training—faster than ever. Whether you’re teaching customer service, leadership, financial literacy, or digital skills, we bring it to life with clarity and impact.
  2. Self-Paced, Personalized Learning
Gone are the days of one-size-fits-all training. Our platform allows learners to progress at their own speed—ideal for in-facility tablets, reentry programs, and enterprise environments.
  3. Emotional Intelligence as the Foundation
Every course we create includes training on EQ, communication, and mindset. Emotional resilience, empathy, and professionalism are what make skills stick and careers take off.
  4. Employer-Connected Outcomes
We work with companies ready to hire from our pipeline. This includes justice-impacted job seekers and enterprise teams looking to build a more innovative, sustainable workforce.
  5. A New Learning Model: Self-Paced + Interactive Practice
Our programs don’t stop at theory. To lock in mastery, we combine self-paced learning with interactive workshops, team-based role-playing, and classroom facilitation. Learners don’t just consume content—they practice, reflect, and apply it in context.

Who We Serve

Rebound partners with:

  • Correctional facilities, tablet providers, and reentry programs
  • Workforce agencies, community nonprofits, and second-chance hiring networks
  • Businesses and enterprises that want to build internal talent and reduce turnover

For example:
Call centers often face high recruitment costs, only to lose agents within weeks. Hotel chains struggle to train and retain effective front desk operators. We help employers create personalized online training, quizzes to reinforce learning, and role-playing exercises to build confidence before the first day on the job.

This new approach reduces hiring friction, boosts retention, and attracts mission-driven, coachable talent—especially from overlooked markets.

A Vision Rooted in Experience

A team leads rebound with deep experience in online education, reentry transformation, and digital workforce development.

Co-founder Phil Alfaro has helped launch hundreds of online training products and now brings that expertise to building scalable, AI-powered learning systems for underserved learners.

Reentry strategist and speaker Khalil Osiris spent 20 years in prison, earned his degrees behind bars, and created the Psychology of Incarceration curriculum, which is used nationwide today. His voice brings depth, empathy, and clarity to everything we build.

Carlyle Holder, a 37-year veteran of the U.S. criminal justice system and former warden at some of the nation’s largest correctional institutions, serves as Rebound’s industry advisor. Widely respected both inside and outside the system, Carlyle brings unparalleled insight into correctional operations and reentry strategy, ensuring our programs align with real institutional needs while pushing for forward-thinking reform.

Together, we’re not just training people.
We’re helping them reclaim their futures—and equipping institutions to help lead that change.

Let’s Build Something That Works

Whether you’re an educator, employer, or community leader, we want to talk with you about whether you’re ready to stop checking boxes and start changing lives.

Because when we change how people learn, we change where they can go.
